Has it ever been your experience that a bad motor could cause a Speed Control Board to short out?

I need a new board, I can see where it burnt through, I just want to make sure that the motor is not what could have caused it.

Thanks,
Anthony

It's more likely to be from a power surge/spike.

Buy a surge protector, and plug the washer into the surge protector, and then plug it into the wall socket. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
