My 2 year old Kenmore dishwasher runs normally in all cycles except wash. The motor cuts on for about 3 seconds, runs, then cuts off for 6 seconds then cuts on again for 3, off for 6, over and over. The spray arms seem normal, aren't blocked or stuck, any suggestions?

What is the complete model number of the dishwasher?

587.15142400. The model is called QuietGuard but it is and always has been the noisiest d/w I've ever owned. I went low-cost because I hoped to move into a bigger place, but that dream is on hold...

Sounds very strange. Look for the tech sheets inside the door or the control panel and post it.
