Greetings from a new member.

My Estate dryer is exhibiting 2 symptoms.

1 - It doesn't seem to get hot enough - the clothes take a long time to dry in AutoSense mode and usually aren't dry after 50 minutes in Timer mode. My front load washer spins most of the water out, so the clothes are almost dry when they go in the dryer. 50 minutes is way too long for most loads.

2 - The Timer knob moves when in Timer mode, but it doesn't move when in either AutoSense mode, even after the clothes are dry. It stays wherever it was set and the dryer will run forever.

Here's what I know:

The venting system has been cleaned from the back of the drum all the way to the outside vent, so it's not related to air flow.

The flame comes on at the start of all cycles, and apparently it comes on during the cycles because sometimes the clothes are warm - but never hot - when I check them. Sometimes they are not very warm, even when they are still damp.

I first suspected the cycling thermostat from other posts I read in this forum, but that wouldn't explain the Timer not moving when in AutoSense mode, would it?

Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.

Problem solved.

I replaced the coil kit on the gas valve and everything works fine now.

As you can see on the wiring diagram, power to the OR timer terminal comes through these coils and used for the timer motor when the "auto" dry cycle set.

You did a good job. I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Gene.
