Upon turning the start switch on our GE electric dryer (model uncertain), the dryer will growl loadly and the motor will not start. Eventually with enough tries it will go, but it is getting worse. Model is 453, 463, 483, or 2000 according to manual. Is this a relay or perhaps a starting cap that is the likely culprit?

Please post your model number, it will be around the opening where your clothes go in.
