My dryer is heating up ok & stays hot but takes forever to dry anything.
My husband checked the element & it seems ok. We cleaned the vent & all the inside to remove any lint. Do you have any other suggestions? We would appreciate any help you can give us.

There is a place inside the dryer that you have to clean. It is the blower housing. You need to take the front off, and then once the front is off, you need to take the blower housing off. There are 4 screws holding it on to the front of the frame on the dryer. 2 on the right, and 2 on the left. When you remove that, you will look on the bottom, and there will most likely be a ton of lint. If not, you will have to replace the operating thermostat. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Actually there are 2 thermostats, and they are located in the same place, which is right on the blower housing, in the front. One is a heater thermostat, and it measures the heater temperature, and its part # is 61623. The other which is right next to it, is the operating thermostat, which senses the operating temp of the dryer. It part # is 503979. So, in a regular dry cycle the temp should read at the vent, if you have a thermometer, with a thin shaft, you can poke it through the vent hose, should read between 145-155 degrees. If you have that, then cleaning the blower housing and the vent to the outside was it. If not, I recommend you replace the both of the thermostats. They are cheap, and they both have been over taxed, because they have been clicking off, and on, at a much higher rate, so they tend to loose there accuracy. I hope that helps. I think cleaning the housing is going to get it done for me... It was basically jammed full. Thanks so much!
