I have a Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combination which I purchased in June 2006, so it is only 2 1/2 years old. The handle has already broken off, which cost me $100 to repair, now nothing in the microwave will heat up :( . The controls/buttons work fine, everything works fine, except it won't heat up liquids or food. Any suggestions? Please help!

Whirlpool and KitchenAid MicroHood Combination Ovens
GH9177XL GH5176XP GH5184XP GH6178XP GH6177XP KHHS178L KHHS179L
Microwave will not operate (cook). F7 error code appears on the display.
Electrical circuit interruption between L1 and Neutral in the microwave inverter circuit.
Possible reasons: 1. Check door, hinge and cavity front alignment and adjust as needed. 2. Check the operation of all interlock switches. 3. Check over temperature protector for the magnatron. 4. Check all Cavity Thermostats for closed circuit. 5. Unplug the oven for at least 40 seconds. If this solves the problem A. Check the Cooling Fan for proper operation or blockage B. Check the resistance of the magnetron thermostat. It should be 0 Ohms, replace if necessary. 6. Check that the control cable to the 1100 watt inverter is properly connected to plug P2 on the display PCB & Adjust or Reconnect 7. If interlock switches operate correctly, replace 1100W inverter. 8. If problem persists, replace control assembly.

It does not make a humming noise or any unusual sound. It sounds normal, like it always has. Everything works as normal, except it does not heat anything. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Hi V2k04: No code appears on the display. Everything on the display is fine, except it just won't heat up food or liquid. Any thoughts?

Check all fuses according to the tech sheets. If there is nothing wrong then the problem, most likely, is a bad magnetron. Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool microwave Model GH5176XPB0Gene.

It stopped heating this week, but everything else works. No unusal sounds, nor any error code, just quit working. I notice that the door front is cracked on the upper left hand side, but am told on the site for parts that the door front is out of stock, as is most of the items for this model. Could this broken door be the problem?
