We had a tornado go through our town and the electricity went out. My washer will not work now. What could the problem be? I checked the outlet it does work. Did the control panel fry out? Is there a way to find out?

Unfortunately, today's electronically controlled appliances are prone to power surge (and low voltage) damage. If your power went out, and blinked on and off, as is common during a storm, your control may have been dealt a fatal surge.
