Oven won't light, pilot lit, gets bigger & jumps down when knob is turned on I was told probably to replace pilot assembly but whirlpool has discontinued all parts. Can anyone tell me how to clean this pilot assembly that's on there for possibly it's just stopped up somewhere. Also I did find a clip thermostat blub for it in case that is what the problem is & went ahead & ordered it since I can't find parts for it anymore. can anyone tell me if this is easy to change out & how to do it. This oven is 24 yrs old but everything else is working.

Pull off the oven control knob and see if there is an adjustment screw for the pilot lite. It will be on the valve body. If so, adjust it for a bigger pilot flame.

If the burner flame is too high, you may need a new regulator. Unfortunately, It's no longer available.
