We replaced the water filter maybe 2 months ago. We still get water from our side by side front dispensing fridge but it suddenly quit making ice. No problems no slow down just quit.:( I called the appliance repair place we have used before and immediatley he said the ice maker needs to be replaced and that most need to be replace about every 3 years and it costs around $300.00. I think that is crazy! What I have read on this site it maybe the water valve too. Is there anything that we can check or test before we make an investment to a new icemaker. Although I priced one on this site and it seems reasonable.:) So any suggestions would be great. Can you check lines clean them out or anything like that? Thanks for any help;)

The first thing I would do is measure the temperature in the freezer. It suppose to be bellow 10°F. Then check the water feeding tube into the ice maker for frost inside. You can use a hair dryer do defrost it if needed. Post the result. Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire refrigerator Model FRS26HF6BW6Gene.
