Washing machine had a comforter in it to be washed. Discovered it won't agitate or drain iin any position on the dial. It sounds like it's running but doesn't do any as you move the dial from wash to rinse to spin. It sounds like it's changing to the different positions and a motor running, but no activity. Any help would be appreciated. Couldn't find a model number anywhere but it's an Estate Series Whirlpool.

Most likely, it's a broken motor coupler. Lift up on the front of the washer. Is there any plastic or rubber residue on the floor under the motor/pump assembly?

The floor is completely clean underneath, no plastic or rubber.
