My Kitchenaid side by side defrosted last night and I have cleanded the coils, but that did not help. I notice the compressor relay clicks on and then clicks off. The compressor is warm and the coils in the freezer or cool but not really cold etc. If the relay is clicking on and off is this an defective relay or a compressor gone bad? Help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron B

Here are your parts.
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL KSRS27QDAL02 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is the starter/overload combo
Part number: AP3083556
Part number: AP3083556

Often people just try a new starter if that does not work then odds are that the compressor is toast.

If you do not want to do this following are a couple good sites with info on how to check out these parts.

The compressor may check out OK electrically and still be a problem as it may have mechanical problems or partially shorted coils.
