I've removed the heater (the dryer didn't heat at all on the automatic dry settings, weakly on manual dry) but before I order a new heater (almost $200) I'm hoping someone can tell me what the ohm readings should be across various circuits. My readings are 25.6k ohms for the thermostat (the high limit thermostat shows a closed circuit, which I assume is correct), and the following for the leads from the coils:
white to black - 102 ohms
white to grey - 28.7 ohms
black to grey - 74.3 ohms
I'm hoping it's the thermostat (a $50 part) as opposed to the whole heater, i.e. the coils (a $185 part). Or maybe it's something else...
I assume a service manual would indicate what these readings should be.
Thanks in advance!
