How do I gain access to the heating element of my whirlpool gold electric dryer: GEQ8858JT1? Any free repair manuals out there?

Simple. Get a putty knife and slide it in between the bottom panel, and the front on the right side, about 3 inches from the end, and you will hit a clip, that will release the front on that side. Then do the same on the other side. Once that is done, the element is right there in the front. If you need to remove it, you need to remove the shield in the front, and then there is a 1/4 inch screw right between the 2 terminal on the element, that needs to come out. The hold the heater housing with one hand and then pull hard on the element to remove it. Of course the dryer is unplugged before you do this, and you take the wires off of the element.
