I'm hoping that someone can give me some good advice regarding my Bosch DW. Please be patient as I know nothing about DWs and can't seem to find my manual.

Last night I found a puddle of warm water right in front of the DW. The water seemed to be coming from under that black toe kick on the bottom of the DW, not from around the door, but I could be wrong. (Maybe it's all connected.)

I realized belatedly that the filters (both the cup and the flat screen filter) needed to be cleaned. I guess I didn't realize that, even though we pre-rinse, the filter needs to be cleaned. And there was quite an accumulation of really gross "stuff" adhered to the filters. Almost like a fatty substance with more solid areas to it. (Sorry if this is TMI.)

Anyway, I cleaned up all the water and removed the toe kick to see what was going on. I didn't really find a lot of water under the DW so now I'm stumped. (I found some water in the middle toward the back but I don't know if that's where the water started, or if the water ran to that spot.)

First question: could a totally clogged filter cause the kind of leak I've described?

Second question: what's the best way to test the DW now that the filters are clean? Or rather, if I run it and it starts to leak, what do I need to do to stop the DW safely? Do I need to reset it somehow?

Third question: do I need to have someone look at it to see if the clogged filter did any harm?

Thanks for any help!

1. Most likely no.

2. Run the dishwasher as usual with the toe panel removed and watch it to pinpoint the leak. You can stop the dishwasher at any time by pushing the power button.

3. I do not know because I know nothing about your skills.

Gene.
