Fisher & Paykel GWL15 washing machine consistently stops at the light between "rinse" and "spin" and will not advance further. What would would cause that?

I have the same issue with my GWL11 washer. The last time I tried it, i heard a pop now I have no more power. Did you get a any advice on how to repair it. I believe it is the drain pump locate at the bottom of the washer.
