I notice the ignitors (glo-coils) for both the oven and broiler burners stay on the entire time the flame is on. I thought they were supposed to go out after ignition is achieved. Am I mistaken, or is there a malfunction? If there is a malfunction, what would it likely be? Thnx Sam

Sammy,

Yes,

The glow bar does continue to glow when the burner has ignited and there is a flame.

The glow should decrease in intensity, after the flame ignites, you may only see a portion of the igniter glow.

There is always power to the igniter, or at least until the thermostat reaches the temperature selected and shuts the power to the igniter off.
(then the process repeats)

The low intensity of the glow bar, is what keeps the bake/broil burner valve open, and gas supplied to the burner for the flame.

I don't think you have a malfunction, just a mis understanding.

I'm sure you would have burnt out an igniter or gas valve by now if you had a problem.
