This oven is just over 5 years old and it has been shutting itself off in the middle of cooking for about 4-5 months now. It isn't a big deal if you are standing right there and turn it back on, sometimes it will only happen once and other times it happens evey 5 mins, and can drive you crazy.

I have a huge crowd coming for Thanksgiving and Sears is asking $129.00 just to walk in the door.

Can you help?

K,

What do you mean by "shutting itself off" ?

The clock display changes , clock goes blank , Display OK but oven not heating ?

Do the top burners work, when the oven won't ?

Have you ever had a fail code displayed (1c1c, 2c2c, etc.) ?

As you don't have thermal or safety fuses in the circuits,

I would have to think :

Power supply problem the the range.

Loose connection in the wiring harness, in the range.

Failed circuit in ERC / Touchpad assembly.

Part number: AP4097551
Part number: AP4097551

It's most likely a bad ERC/clock, based on your initial description, but it could be any of the above checks.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)

The digital display has a light that says "bake" when the pre-heat gets to temp. the BAKE light stay solid, but when the oven is shutting itself off the BAKE light starts flashing. The burners still work fine, it is just the oven. I have nveve seen a fail code displayed, but the oven is certainly shutting off. How do you find the wiring harness in the range and can you give me a part number for the power supply. Should I purchase a new power supply or try tightening the connections on the wire harness first?

The OVEN loses heat, the display light which says "BAKE" starts flashing, the top burners still work fine. I have never seen a fail code displayed.
What is the part number for the power supply and should I try tightening the wire harness before purchasing any parts? If so, where can I find instructions as to how to get to the harness safely.

KH,

Sounds like you're going to need the ERC / Clock assembly, based on the explanation you gave here.

The power supply I referred to, is the wall outlet and wiring in the wall, and the junction box on the back of the range, where the power cord comes out.

Check and make sure there are no loose wires or loose connections.

It sounds like your cancel circuit is activating during the cycle, or the bake program circuit is failing and loosing the input.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
