The washer is not starting each time I do a load. I have to pull really hard and at an angle to get the pull knob to engage. I have to hold it during the spin cycle to get it to finish. Does anyone have any answers?

Replace the timer would be my answer

That was what I had thought about doing. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it this weekend.
