I have a amana ale643raw electric dryer. It was taking 2-3 hours to dry a load of towels. The exhaust duct was a flexible duct about 30' long and really clogged. I replaced it with rigid duct and a booster fan. It now takes less than an hour but the dryer won't shut off in the auto cycle. It works OK in the timed mode.

What is th cure ???

Some more info. The auto shutoff works in the permanent press mode, just doesn't work in the regular cycle. Also, I've already replaced the cycling thermostat and thermostat heater.

Does the position of the selector, more dry or less dry, have any thing to do with the temperature at which the thermostat will shut off the heating element ?

Thanks,
