I Have Kenmore 300 Electric Dryer. A Few Weeks It Stopped Heating. It Tumbles Fine. I Have Checked Continiuity On Thermal Fuse And It Is Fine, There Is A Cycling Thermostat That Has Four Wires, Two Red Ones And Two Purple Ones. The Red Ones Show Continuity But When I Check With My Tester Two Metal Parts For Purple Wires They Don't Light Up. So I Have Changed It With Another One . It Still Doesn't Heat. I Have Looked At The Heating Element And All Of The Coils Look Fine. When I Check For Continuity There All Of It Lights Up Very Bright And One Of Them Lights Up Very Dim. Would That Be A Problem? Another Thing When I Looked At My Three Prong Plug, One Of The Copper Things Looked Really Grimy And Dark Like It Was Burnt. If That Was A Problem Would My Dryer Work At All? Please Help, I Have Just Fixed Our Furnace But The Dryer Gives Me A Headache! It Just Won't Work Right. It Is Only 2.5 Years Old. And i almost forgot i have checked my circuit breaker box and reset the ones for dryer. it didn't do anything!

Do you have the means to do some electrical testing on it?

OK. Just let us know when you have a meter; I believe we can help you isolate the problem and save you a bunch of money on the repair.

You may want to chech the high limit switch on top of the duct on the heating element. It will have 2 wires on it, it runs but wont heat. Thats usually the problem
