Hello,*
12 year old Sears (GE, sears badge) oven. *
Did not heat. Ignitor drew only 2.6-2.8 amps. Ignited for about 2 seconds then shut off.*
Been replaced once so I do not have original for reference.
I have replaced my ignitor and gas flows in about 35 seconds. It does not ignite reliably. over 40 seconds gas flow before I shut it off. One time mini gas 'bomb' with flame flash visible outside door. The ignitor is a generic part original not a=vail anymore. Do I need to re-orient it (bend tabs) so it is super close to the gas jets? It is visually as close to the*Broiler*Burner I can get.*

What is the part number for the igniter you've installed? Is it Bake or Broil igniter?

This igniter is identical with the original WB13K21 and normally it should draw between 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If you did not bend the mounting brackets on the burner and igniter tabs then it should work properly unless there is a burned through hole(s) on the burner. Gene.

I have a similar issue with a Magic Chef range (Model 31FN-2KX-ON). It was having mini explosions and then wouldn't light at all. When it did light I saw an 'extra' flame coming out midway down the burner tube, similar in size to the other flames, but obviously from a unplanned hole. Coul this be causing the lack of ignition? Would an extra hole in the tube reduce the pressure at the ignition point? Are the tubes hard to replace? Thanks.
