The dryer won't dry thoroughly. THe unit starts up fine, burner lights and then after shart period there is some buzzing from the gas valve area and the burner shuts down. The buzzing continues several times intermittently maybe every minute or so. Do you think I have a burner issue or has the thermostat failed ? The other thing I thought is that the ignitor is not working properly. (Flame detection)

Replace the coils on the gas valve, if they are available. If not you would have to replace the whole gas valve. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Changed out the coils. Still no heat could it be the thermostat ??? Or that pill like thing in the rear of the dryer ?

what happened after you changed out the coils? Did it do the same thing? Did the ignitor come on? Check out your exhaust pipes/lines for lints/clogs.
