This started about a year ago-when in convection bake mode-the food was burning ...opened door and smoke poured out. Found broiler red hot. Had to turn breaker off to make it go off. It worked ok for a year then started happening again. Now I had to disconnect the violet wire from relay control board to be able to use the oven. The relay for the broiler part APPEARS to be stuck on. Any further checks I need to do-or just replace relay board? Also-have you found a replacement relay for those by themselves??

Was able to figure out which relay I needed. ordered a Omron relay from Allied Electronics in Fort Worth that was similar. Removed old relay and soldered in new one-It works now. The original one is proprietary, but once you know the relay ratings it is easy enough to find a replacement. Will be doing the relay for the oven heater also as the contacts didn't look much better on it. (you can pull the cover off of the relay without removing relay and it says 12 volt on relay!) So a 30 amp/240v relay with 12 volt activation will work. Cost-relay less than 5 bucks.

If you are interested-the relay is a Tyco T90N1D12-12
or a NTE R53-1D30-12 The Tyco comes without a cover-but the original cover fits, the NTE comes with the cover. The Tyco cover can be bought separately as 35D620A.

Home - ACE ELECTRONICS Houston, Texas out of Houston, Tx can get the NTE one, Allied electronics has the Tyco-but they have a minimum order of 25 dollars. The relays cost about 3 dollars-sure beats a $180 control board as long as you know how to solder!
