Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 8/16/2007(UTC) Posts: 3,273		You may find that your heater coil assembly has broken, or sagged, and part of the coil is touching metal. To test this, remobe the front of the dryer and disconnect the wires to the heater (the larger, red wires). check each terminal of the heater to see if there is any continuity with chassis ground. If so, replace the heater.
