help. my freezer just stopped keeping cold......could it be the thermostat?

If it is dead, get the 2 wires on the thermostat, and jump them out, and see if the compressor comes on. This is a basic freezer. It is either the control, or the conponents on the compressor. It could also be the compressor. You could also see if the is voltage to the compressor. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
