Kenmore Laundry Center.......on start up its a 50/50 if it will fill up and agitate or just keep filling and draining at the same time.....if it does fill it will run correctly until it gets to the fill portion of the rinse cycle where I have to turn knob past to get to spin cycle 90% of the time.......i replaced the washer timer but it seems to do the same thing
if you need the model number i can get it

Please post the model number so we can look at your machine. Kenmore doesn't make anything so your unit could be made by any manufacturer.

Those are strange symptoms, I recommend calling a tech to check out the system.

Your drain hose is too far down the drain pipe. Pull it out the drain pipe until it is about a foot down the pipe, and run a load.....This is called siphoning :)

actually the end of the "hose" is higher than the outlet but I taped it too the pipe (which goes into a septic tank) to keep the backwash smell out...........so I assume the tapejob make a continuity which is creating the siphoning.........................that sound about right
