Whirlpool dryer doesnt heat and drum doesnt turn but the timer is working. When you set dryer to any setting and press start, the time starts showing as if drying and it goes down until done. Also the wet sensor shows as if clothes in dryer are wet even if dryer empty when started. I did have my husband reverse the door, did not order a special kit for this. We just reversed the hinges and door worked but didnt fit exactly right. We did this a while back though and dryer worked fine if door was shut firmly.

Check the thermal fuse (#47 on the diagram) for continuity. The new thermal fuse comes as a kit included the high limit thermostat. Both parts must be replaced together. - The thermal fuse kit Part number: AP3094323

I would also check the belt switch. This is by the idler wheel assembly for the motor. Could be you may even have a broken belt.
The wet clothes indicator may just be that the sensor strips need cleaning. If there is any dirt between them they will give false reading. |

The wet clothes indicator may just be that the sensor strips need cleaning. If there is any dirt between them they will give false reading. Take the bottom panel off the dryer. You can look in there, and see if the belt is broken. If not, lay down on your stomach, and look hard left, and on top of the vent tube, will be 2 parts, the farthest from the left would be the thermal fuse. That would make the dryer be dead, but the control board functional. If you unplug the dryer, and take the 2 wires off of the thermal fuse, which is white in color, and put the 2 terminal ends together, and put some tape around it, so it does not hit metal, and then plug it in and see if it works. Is so, replace the thermal fuse. Do not run it jumped out like that. This is for checking only. If it does work, make sure you get good air flow to the outside. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
