I have a GE side by side Fridge unit and the fridge side stays too cold. It is getting so cold it is freezing food. The freezing first started in the crisper but not the whole fridge is freezing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

abadfish66, thanks for quick response. Unfortunately I mis-stated the sympton, not ony is the crisper freezing but the entire fridge side is freezing. If you need more particulars, I will gladly inspect/report ASAP.

Because your entire fridge is freezing the part# I gave you is correct. What happens, is the damper door breaks at the hinge and causes cold air to enter the fridge non stop with no way to control it.

You were correct the damper was broken at the molded axle junction. I was able to repair with a plastic epoxy. I figure if the epoxy does not work I will have the part number to order.
Thanks for the great help.
