My husband and I bought a Jenn-Air Model WW27430P convention oven from someone on craig's list that lives about 200 miles from us. When we went to hook it up today we couldn't get it to work at first. Then my husband started pushing buttons (it came with no manual) and the bottom broiler came on and a fan came on and we couldn't get them off. So he shut off the circuit breaker and the fan didn't come back on when he turned the breaker back on but the lower broiler came back on.

We then saw a spark jump on the upper oven hinge but it didn't seem to change anything and it didn't spark again. How do we get that lower broiler off and any suggestions what might be wrong?

The actual model number is WW27430P (zero not o) not WW2743op
Here are your parts

Here is an operators manual

And an install sheet

Check that the wiring hook up is OK.
Often there are problems with installs if the unit was set up for 3 wire but is now 4 wire and vise versa.
When there is a spark it is also a voltage spike and often this takes out electronic parts.

And here is a service manual.
Note: That it covers many units so extra care must be taken to make sure that what you are looking at applies to your unit.

Here is a good site with basic oven repair info including wiring hookups

This is a fairly complicated piece of equipment. Unless it is obvious or you have some experience with repairing electrical equipment it may be best to get in a pro. The problem is that it probably will not be cheap.
