After a Wash or Rinse cycle the water is not pumped out of the tub. I completely disassembled the dishwasher's discharge water loop, including the drain line to the sink, and found no blockage. The check valve was recently replaced, upon inspection this time it is still in excellent condition. I didn't remove the check valve body for inspection, but it doesn't appear to have any moving parts or seals, and was clean upon visual inspection. The pump starts and stops as described in the timing sequence chart.

So, I'm a little lost, in reality it’s only the pump, check valve and high point vent (?) between the tub and the sink drain line. I assuming the pump needs to be replaced? :confused:

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the experts/volunteers on this forum for their support, you are providing an invaluable service!!

Also, my problem has been resolved. I ordered both piston assembly and a complete drain pump from Appliance Parts as I wasn't convinced that the piston was the problem. Some background is required, suffice it to say that I've had to replace other parts previously due to certain family members not rinsing the olive oil from the dishes. To make a long story short, the pump was the problem. It appears that the O-Ring behind the impeller shroud failed allowing water into the rotor area. What confused me was the fact that the pump ran when I inspected it, (I removed it from the washer) but that was because it wasn’t flooded with water!!

I hope this provides you, and the members of this site with some insight into resolving other similar problems.
