We bought a second hand whirlpool super capcity 465. The oven soots up the flame displacer panel and smells up the kitchen. So not knowing if it was used by natural or lp we looked in the manual online for coversion options. It said to turn the orfice clockwise till the flame is blue/green and 1/2". We tried to turn it clockwise but it wouldn't budge so we turned it counter clockwise to loosen it, to discover it was turned all the way down already. The flame is mostly blue, but the flame is 1-1/2 " long and a yellow flicker at the tips dances down it occasionally. So apparently the orfice is not screwing down far enough to adjust it right. So will putting on a new orfice fix it? Could someone have changed the orfice with a wrong orfice? Or is something else wrong? Appreciate any help!!

Upon further investigation we discovered that the cap on the regular was loose and tightening that helped fix the problem. But I appreciate the response! Thanks again!
