I just replaced the timer control unit on my Ultimate Care II washer to fix a problem with the washer not filling with water. The washer worked great for several days afterwards, but now has developed more problems. None of the wash cycles work - when the control knob is turned to wash, nothing happens. If I turn the knob to rinse, I can get the machine to fill with water, agitate, spin and drain.

Did I buy a faulty timer control unit?
Is there another explanation for this behavior?
