I was recently told that the Whirlpool washer machine in my rental that is a couple years old has broken due to excessive weight of a full load of laundry placed on top of the machine.
I was told that the weight caused the door to bend inward thereby damaging the kill switch which the door triggers when properly closed.
Is this possible? Is is possible that a load of laundry placed on top of the metal Whirlpool machine would actually be the cause of breaking the machine?
Please get back to us as soon as convenient.
Thank you, From California

It is possible but unlikely it happened that way! If it was a big load and flopped pretty hard on the machine(or someone set or stepped on it) As a landlord myself I would have to tell them that was a fault they caused and they will have to cover the repairs or forfeit the deposit because the property in their possession is no longer in the condition it was whe they moved in. I've been lucky that none of my tenants have ever done any major damage to my appliances. Nat
