I have a Coldspot Upright Freezer that is about 30 years old. It still keeps cold and I haven't had any problems with the temperature yet but I have started to notice a clicking in the back lower portion of the freezer. It sounds like a switch or silenoid that is trying to switch on but doesn't stay. It seems to happen after the door has been opened when it would be going into a cooling cycle. Any ideas for me? Thanks

The noise could be coming from the start relay, which is attached to the compressor. 30 years is a good lifespan for a refrigerator; it will be increasingly more difficult to find replacement parts. You should keep this in mind, and maybe budget for the eventual replacement of the appliance.
