We noticed over the weekend that the oven was running hot (my wife actually burned cookies for the first time I can remember). Anyway I went to make supper and the oven beeped to signal the proper temp. but the heating element never shut off. A different website said that I needed to check the RTD Sensor Probe, and perhaps replace it. Does this sound correct? I'd hate to eat more semi-burnt cookies and this is apple pie season! Thanks, Keith Keith if you have an Ohm meter, take off the back of the oven panel, and you can get to the wires on the oven sensor. They should ohm out to 1070 to1100 to be good. If the oven never cut off, and the bake element never shut off, you could have a clock control board problem. Traditionally, if the oven is off more then 75 dgrees, it will most likely be the control board. If it is only off by about 35 degrees, we can most likely make an adjustment on the control board to cempensate for the temp difference. When it beeped the unit thought it was at the correct temperature, it is getting this info from the sensor so the sensor is probably OK. But instead of turning the element off it continued to heat so the board was at fault. Try removing power from the unit for a couple minutes perhaps this will reset the microprocessor. This is a long shot but worth a try. More likely than not the relay on the board that controls the element is sticking closed.

We replaced the control board (because a technician told me that was the problem) but we got the F10 error again. From reading the posts above it occurs to me that the problem is more likely that even though we have canceled the oven temperature at the control board it is not turning off and that the sensor is what is wrong. How do I verify this?
