I have a GE double wall oven model #JKP55WP3WG on which the lower oven turns off after about 5 minutes of preheating. The top oven works fine. I was told that I needed a new control panel which is no longer manufactured. Can you help?

When you set the bottom oven to lets say 350, If it shuts off, and it says 350 on the board, and the temp is not 350. It could be the sensor. Which is the long thin rod, in the back of the oven. If that is the case, I would replace the sensor. Also, just a birdy in your ear. If it is a control board, and it is no longer available, you can take the board out, and send it to a company that rebuilds them. We have done it many times for people, and they do a great job.
