Listen, you don't have to take the cabinet off. Take the 2 screws off that hold the switch in place, and if the wires are not long enough, give a good tug, and then cut the two wires, and then pull the plastic tube off, and just wire nut the new one in. LOL!! I am sooo sorry!!! LOL!!! I was talking about a washer lid switch. Ok, let me help you on the dryer. You might tuck that last bit of info aside, if you have the matching washer. LOL!!!! If you pull the lint filter out from the top of the dryer, you will see to phillip head screws. Remove them. Now all we need to do is pop the top up. If you get a puttty knife, and slide it under the top on the right side about 2 inches from the end, you will hit a plastic clip, that will release the top from that side. You kind of, have to push in and hit the clip with one hand, and pull up on the top with the other. Do the same on the other side, and then push the whole top back and rest it on the back wall, and you are there. If the putty knide fights to much, get a thin blade screw driver, and slide the tip, next to the clip, and pop it up. We tell people to use a putty knife, so it does not chip up the paint. I am carefull, and I use a screw driver. Oh, make sure you do this with the dryer unplugged. Let me know how it goes. Tom
