You will need to check your defrost system. With a GE it probably is the defrost heater, which is located behind the rear panel in the freezer part. There probably is a lot of frost & ice buildup on or behind that panel.

I need some help taking off the back panel of the freezer to get to the defrost heater.Is there any other way to test the defrost heater?
