First time poster here. Lots of good information here! I'm having a problem with my GE electric dryer. I used it for a couple loads of clothes today just fine, and then when I went to put a new load in, I turned the timer dial and it didn't click like normal - it clicked for a second and then started spinning more freely. Then I couldn't start it. Messing with the knob, I got it to start and now it seems to not be generating any heat. My initial thought is that the timer control broke, but does that explain why it wouldn't put out heat any longer (it dried two loads earlier today)? Is it just a timer module replacement? Thanks!

It certainly sounds like the timer is a problem, but you will not know if it is the only problem until you replace it. Here is the part number. Part number: AP3995102
See what happens when you replace it. It is an expensive item (GE parts are about the highest in the industry) so you may want to consider replacing it instead, as you may have other problems.

Thanks for the info. Disappointing to see that parts are expensive. And it's especially aggravating since it's only 3 years old. Anyway, I really appreciate the help!
