Sorry to open up this thread, but I have the same problem, and just wanted to clarify.

So I have Kenmore model 110.27042603. The washer works great, except it is extremely loud during spin cycle. It sounds like from this thread that I need part AP5306816. My questions are:

1. Does this part have everything I need to fix my washer? It sounds like I might need a rubber washer/gasket and lubricant.

2. Is this repair fairly easy? I am computer / tech guy and like to tackle lots of DIY stuff. I've never worked on a washer before, but as long as there is a diagram or instructions, I'm fairly confident I can do this job.

3. My washer is now 8 years old...is this even worth the money and time?

Thanks!

Dan,

You're pretty much on track and on target.

The
Part number: AP5306816
Part number: AP5306816

Outer tub assembly will contain all the parts you'll need to replace the tub bearings and seal assembly.

The repair itself is a bit involved, but doable with basic skills and basic hand tools and a manual would be helpful. (do to the limited space of this forum, we were unable to attach the information, you mentioned).

Eight years is about half way through the normal life expectancy of your washer. You may want to attempt this one repair, it may be worth it for now.

Thanks for the quick response. I think I will go ahead and tackle this repair. I found a video showing removing the inner tub. But after that, I'm not sure how to proceed with removing the outer tub. Can you provide a link to any resources showing this?
