dishwasher stopped after five minutes of washing and cycle lights started blinking. hard time trying to cancel and drain it. did this twice. now only lock on light stays lit and you can't set any cycle. did replace thermal fuse with no change. what to do next

From what I know forever that is worth the Kenmores when they go in a failure and lock down either the clean LED will blink or the Start/Resume key will blink but not the lock led I know this is a dumb question but have yopu tried to unlock it by holding button for 5 seconds or more? You can try putting it in a diagnostics to clear it by doing a keypad dance of pressing NORMAL HEATED DRY NORMAL HEATED DRY all LED"s will light then press start will will go into a service mode you can cancel after that or let it go and it will shut off by itself. If you can't get it in a diagnostics your board is bad

Hi Bella,
If "unlock" and "reset" instructions provided by v2k04 would not help, then the problem is a shorted one or more pads on the control panel.
The correction is to replace the console.
If you need help with right part number and best price to buy it, post the complete model number of the dishwasher and the color of the console.

Gene,
my model is Kenmore 665.15979992 and it is black. Do they also call this the control panel. I am confused when I look up replacement parts. This would be the outside panel that you select your cycle (push buttons) correct.

Gene,
also whats the difference between the electronic control assembly and the control console/panel. How do I know which one I need. Tried resetting and it worked for 15- 20 minutes and then stopped and started blinking lights again(normal wash and no heat dry and washing cycle) which is what it was set on. I would think this meant the board/electronic controls were bad not the panel/console. Whats your opinion?

Hi Bella, The following is written in the tech sheets for the dishwasher: "If the control detects that a key is stuck in the depressed position, dishwasher operation will be suspended and the control will flash the light for that key until the condition is corrected. If a key without a light is stuck or multiple keys are stuck, the control will flash the Lock-Out light." The electronic control is your dishwasher "brain". It operates with all the functions of the dishwasher according to the commands you enter through the key panel, aka console, which is actually a user interface. Because more than one key is stuck, the correction is to replace the console. - The part number for the console is AP3124322 Call the customer service at 877-477-7278 for exact ETA on the part. Gene.
