Hello,
I'm looking for some help debugging my Kenmore 106.56662500 fridge ice maker. It has stopped producing ice.
Here is what I have done so far: I have tested the ice maker water value. -working I have checked the ice maker water tubing for clogging. - no clogs I tested the thermal fuse on the ice maker. - It was broken but I bypassed it to make sure that it was the only problem. Still no ice. I know the emitter board is working properly and i'm 99% sure the receiver board is working properly. I checked the AC motor in the ice maker to make sure 120Vac would still spin it. - It does
The LED output code indicates the ice maker is sensing/working properly, it just won't begin a harvest. The "claws" of the ice maker are currently pointing straight down(the same position as when I reinstalled the icemaker).
I only have two ideas at the moment: 1. The ice maker valve is no receiving the signal to turn on and fill the ice maker. 2. The ice maker is shot. This would be OK with me, I just want to make sure before I buy it.
Does anyone have any input on this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
One last thing. Is there a way to bypass the ice maker and turn the water valve so I can rule out the valve wiring?
Thanks, PK

Thanks, PK PK, Great report, I'm pretty sure , you have a bad icemaker assembly, and most likely in the mold heater assembly. Part number: AP3182733
Since you have voltage to the I/M control module, you should be able to insert your jumper wire in the L and V contact openings and actuate the fill valve from there. Good Luck,
