my dishwasher won't drain, i have cleaned out the filters and checked the hose drain. There is a little part in the back that can unscrew and i have taken it out and made sure that the little thing is still going up and down with the spring. what else can I do to fix this??

I cannot find any info on this unit but it is probably a GE unit.

I am assuming the part you mention is the piston & nut.
I am assuming that not only did it go up and down, the rubber seal on it was OK.

Check that the wash/drain solenoid on the left hand side of the pump is being actuated (pulled down) when the unit should be draining.
