When I set the dial on my dryer for normal cycle , delicate lights up. When on casual setting the light for amount of heat automatically goes to low heat. I have to put on extra heavy and manually set heat to medium or high to get clothes dry. Is this something a person with some DIY skill can fix easily and safely? Would it be the control panel itself where I turn know to set cycle or something else,?
Thanks for any help.

Found out the dryer is older than I thought. It is 2002 model.
Also when dryer is running it will start beeping after a few minutes of running. Dryer will continue to run and beeping will continue every few minutes
