I have received a new power/timer board to replace a faulty one. I have the new board plugged in on all wires but can't get the old board out. Do I use brute strength or will that break something vital to seating the new board?

I'm so bad at this forum thing that I can't even engage a repair person to help me. Am calling a repairman from my town to do the job.
