I have a Whirlpool SxS fridge just over 5 years old.
Fridge quit cooling with clicking coming from compressor. So, I replaced the blown start device. Four days later and the new one has just blown.
I cleaned out a LOT of build-up on the coils before replacing the first blown SD.
Is there anything else I should before calling the repair man?
Thanks.

Did you also replace the relay/overload and capacitor? If not you should replace all 3 at the same time. Nat

No, I did not replace the capacitor. I *think* that this part (#2188830) is both the relay and overload.
If I replace the 2nd blown SD AND the capacitor, what are the odds that it should fix the problem (for more than 4 days<s>)? IOW, how probable is it that there's actually a problem with the compressor?

Without checking it's hard to tell. I'd suggest having the tech come inspect the unit. Nat

Thanks, Nat. I was afraid of that.
I wish you guys were here in Edmond, OK. Any suggestions on how to find a honest, reliable service company?:)
