The small rubber door for ice dispensing no longer closes tightly and it is loose. It looks like I should be able to pop the front panel off the door to then determine what parts need to be replaced. There are even two little slots on the bottom of the panel that look like I should be able to put a screw driver in there and pop it off. The panel I am referring to is part number 21 of the Dispenser Front Parts for model SS22AEXHW00.

This panel does not want to come off easily and before I break it and THEN find out there was another way to get it off, I thought I would post a question here. There doesn't appear to be a way to get to the dispenser from inside the door and the logical way to service it would be from the outside.

Anyway, does the front panel come off using these slots on the bottom and I am just not prying hard enough? Thanks for any information you can provide.

The front dispenser cover can be removed by inserting a screwdriver blade into the two slots on the bottom side of the cover. By gently turning the blade, the cover will snap free at the bottom and can be slid upward to be removed.
