I purchased the dryer used, so I'm not really sure how old it is. I'm having to change from a 3 prong to a 4 prong plug. The 3 wires on the dryer in descending order from top to bottom are black/yellow on top, white in middle, and light blue on bottom. The new 4 prong colors are black, white, red, and green. The green is ground, white is neutral, black and red are hot wires. Can anyone tell me which wires get connected where? Thanks a whole bunch. NOTE: the model is LDE9804ACE

Here are your parts, includes a wiring layout
Replacement parts for MAYTAG LDE9804ACE Dryer - Ele | AppliancePartsPros.com

Top - Black - L1
Middle - White - Neutral
Bottom - Red - L2

The ground strap from the terminal strip's Middle connection to the machine frame has to be disconnected and the Green wire then is attached to the frame.

On a 3 wire hook up ground and Neutral are the same, on a 4 wire hook up they are separate.
