I delayed replacing the water filter for a week or so after the indicator light illuminated, then for some reason before I replaced the filter the control panel on the left door went completely blank, no water will dispense, nothing at all on the panel is working. Unplugged the fridge for a minute or so, pressed both filter reset and lock buttons for more than 10 seconds, no joy. Otherwise the fridge is working just fine and ice is being produced. Thanks for any and all help. Steve

Steve,

The model number you posted is incorrect. Verify and repost it please.

Thanks for the reply Gene-

From the label at the top inside of the left door:

PFSS2MJXA SS.

Looks like I lacked the space before the last SS, otherwise the other part is good.

Regards-

Steve

Steve,

Hopefully the Model Number Locator will help you to find it.

Sorry to be a pain, but I have written it correctly, right from the label ,top inside the left door. What else can I do to help ?

It's a 22cf french door bottom freezer model, water thru the door, no ice thru the door. Thanks.

Steve,

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I found the diagrams for this model. Unfortunately I never worked with such refrigerator and I could not find any service manuals.

Based on my experience with GE refrigerators, the problem can be a bad user interface-display board (on the left door) or the main control board (on the back of the refrigerator). Due to lack of the technical information for this model I'm not able to provide more accurate advice.

- The interface-display assembly Part number: AP4481482
Part number: AP4481482

- The main control board Part number: AP4363645
Part number: AP4363645

You can order both parts from Appliance Parts Pros to see which one will fix the problem and return one of them later due to the their very friendly return policy.

Thanks a ton for the help Gene.

I have read that the main board is pretty easy to access and swap, but how about the one on the left door ? Can you guess what the procedure would be for access, etc., ?

Best regards-

Steve

Steve,

While I'm looking for the tear down instructions for the interface-display, you can replace the main control board to see if it will fix the problem.
