Help me diagnose which part isn't working. The ice was in the tray but not kicked out. Remind how I determine if the heater isn't working

Carol,

Most technicians check this style ice maker using an insulated jumper wire.

Remove the white civer on the front, so you can access the module.

Insert the ends (bare wires) into the opennings labelled H and T , hold there until the stripper arm starts to move, then remove the wire.

When the stripper contacts the ice cubes in the mold, give it 30 to 40 seconds, then touch the bottom of the mold assembly and see if it is warm or hot, also listen for a clicking noise.

If the mold bottom is not hot, you may have an open heater or a bad thermostat in the mold.

If there is a clicking noise and the mold is hot, you've got a stripped mechanism.

Either way, the best bet would be to replace the ice maker complete
